Farming Culture
Grow your own materials right in your backyard. Bedford has a rich farming history that continues to this day. There are more than 200,000 acres of farmland in Bedford County and plenty of room to grow. You can also label your products as locally grown through Bedford County's Bedford Grown Initiative.
Natural Advantage
The Stoney Creek Reservoir is fed by numerous granite mountain springs sourced mostly from National Park Service land resulting in a very palatable and clean water supply. The water is categorized as being “soft," having relatively low mineral content, an excellent supply for industrial water handling equipment such as boilers, and permitting more effective use of cleaning protocols. The water supplied from the Reservoir enters Town from the north side on a dedicated supply line.
