Meet the Neighbors
The Region At A Glance
Residents of the Town of Bedford are also residents of Bedford County, a 769 square mile county that ranks as one of the largest in the Commonwealth by land mass. Being a business in the Town of Bedford opens you up to assistance from both the Town Economic Development Office and the County Office of Economic Development. This dual partnership opens up a world of opportunities within your grasp.
As part of a sub-region of Region 2, Bedford County is a member of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance (a product of a 2016 merger between the Region 2000 alliance and the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce). Through our partnership with the Bedford County Office of Economic Development, your business will have access to the connections and assistance that LRBA provides.
The Central Virginia Planning District Commission takes a broader look at the area and develops plans for regional growth. The CVPDC assists with grant writing, planning and strategy, and serves as a partner in planning and development. The CVPDC also drafts and implements the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.
